California just made history! 🎉 Governor Newsom has signed AB 1487, renaming the state’s Transgender Wellness and Equity Fund to the Two-Spirit, Transgender, Gender Nonconforming, and Intersex (2TGI) Wellness and Equity Fund — a powerful recognition of our diverse community. Alongside this victory, we celebrate a slate of bills we sponsored and supported that advance safety, dignity, and justice for all 2TGI people.

New research from the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law, in partnership with the TransLatin@ Coalition, finds that about three-quarters (73%) of immigrant respondents to the LA County Trans & Nonbinary Survey—including 80% of trans Latina immigrants—live at or below the federal poverty level, compared to 44% of non-immigrant respondents.

The TransLatin@ Coalition (TLC), the largest trans-led organization in the United States founded by Latina immigrants, will host its 11th Annual GARRAS (Groundbreaking Activism Redirecting & Reforming All Systems) Fashion Show on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 8:00 PM at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.

The Policy Department of The TransLatin@ Coalition proudly hosted a press conference outside the Los Angeles County Affordable Housing Solutions Agency (LACAHSA) board meeting to launch our TGI: Housing Initiative — and it was nothing short of inspiring.

We are excited to announce the launch of our TGI Community Survey: Knowledge and Attitudes about Opioid and Stimulant Use. This survey is designed to gather important insights from our Trans, Gender Expansive, and Intersex (TGI) community about knowledge, experiences, and perceptions related to opioid and stimulant use.

The TransLatin@ Coalition held its inaugural Walk4Humanity to raise funding that the president has cut during his ongoing anti-trans crusade. The result was a community triumph.

On Sunday, August 24, 2025, Sunset Junction became the epicenter of resilience and unity as hundreds joined Walk4Humanity, a mobilization of love, power, and justice for Trans, Gender Expansive, and Intersex (TGI) individuals—especially Black, Brown, and immigrant communities.
